Our story
It started with a simple belief.
That chess can change the way a young person sees themselves—and the world around them.
KCI was founded to make thoughtful, high-quality chess education accessible to young people across Kenya. What began around a few chessboards has grown into a learning community connecting students, coaches, families, and schools.
Today, we combine structured training with patient mentorship. We celebrate wins, but we care just as much about the thinking behind every move: discipline, imagination, composure, and the confidence to begin again.
